We recently flew with Norse Atlantic Airways, the low-cost long-haul airline making waves with its affordable transatlantic fares — and here’s how it went!

✨ First Impressions

Norse markets itself as a budget-friendly alternative to traditional carriers for long-haul routes, especially between Europe and the US. Booking was easy, and prices were significantly lower than the legacy airlines. Just keep in mind — like other budget airlines, the base fare is bare bones.

🪑 Seats & Comfort

We flew in Economy, and the seats were modern and comfortable enough for a long-haul journey. Legroom was surprisingly decent (more generous than other budget airlines), and the cabin was clean and fresh — thanks to their use of Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

If you’re traveling with kids or just want more space, you might want to pay a bit extra for the Economy Plus seats or even Premium — still more affordable than other carriers’ business class.

💼 Baggage & Extras

This is where budget rules apply: checked luggage, meals, and seat selection are all extras. We chose to skip the meal option — our son never eats aeroplane food, so we always bring a packed lunch and plenty of snacks. It worked perfectly for us and saved money too!

🍽️ Food & Entertainment

Since we didn’t order meals, we can’t comment on the food quality — but having our own food onboard was no problem at all. As for entertainment, we were pleasantly surprised. Our son was entertained the entire flight, and there was plenty for us adults to watch too. It might not have the massive libraries of the bigger airlines, but it absolutely did the job.

👨‍✈️ Crew & Service

The crew were friendly, professional, and attentive. While it’s a no-frills airline, we were pleasantly surprised by how helpful and upbeat the team was onboard.

🌍 Routes & Destinations

Norse operates mainly between Europe (London, Oslo, Berlin) and North America (New York, Miami, LA, Orlando, etc.). It’s a great option for families or digital nomads looking to cross the Atlantic without breaking the bank.

👍 Pros:

  • Excellent value for long-haul travel

  • Comfortable Dreamliner planes

  • Friendly crew

  • Good legroom in Economy

  • Easy online check-in and booking

  • Surprisingly good in-flight entertainment for all ages

👎 Cons:

  • Everything beyond your seat costs extra

  • No complimentary food or drink

  • Fewer flight frequency and routes compared to bigger airlines

⭐ Final Verdict

Norse Atlantic is a solid choice if you’re looking for a no-frills, affordable long-haul flight. Ideal for families, couples, or solo travelers willing to trade perks for price. As long as you plan ahead and understand what’s included, you can have a smooth, comfortable flight at a fraction of the usual co
